Shabana Football Club has announced significant progress in the procurement and construction of a modern sports team bus funded by President William Ruto, assuring supporters that the long-awaited vehicle will be delivered soon.

In an official statement on Thursday, the club said the initiative followed a special request to the President to support the team in acquiring a decent and modern sports bus, a plea to which he graciously accepted and financed through East Africa Motors.

According to the club, the imported chassis has already arrived on site, and body-building works have commenced under Master Fabricators Ltd.

The manufacturer has begun working on the custom design guided by specifications provided by President Ruto, which were made available immediately after his commitment.

The project is expected to be completed within a timeline of 90 working days, though the body-building phase will take no more than 60 days, the statement noted.

Shabana FC further confirmed that all payments for the bus have been fully settled in line with the agreement made by the President.

A fully executed paid-up order form and payment documentation were signed and verified, clearing the way for uninterrupted construction of the vehicle.

“We extend our heartfelt appreciation to His Excellency President Dr. William Ruto for his unwavering support. May God bless you abundantly,” wrote Secretary General Dr. Elizaphan Kerama.

The club thanked supporters for their patience and assured them that the long-promised vehicle—viewed as a major boost for the Kisii-based side—will soon be delivered.

“To our loyal supporters, the bus is coming home soon,” the statement concluded.

President Ruto offered to purchase the bus for the club after the team requested for a modern one in August 2025.

The club termed the gesture from the president as a boost to the morale of the Gusii-based team.

“Your acceptance of this request is more than a gesture; it is a bold statement of faith in Kenyan football, in the dreams of our players, and in the unbreakable Shabana spirit. This bus will carry not just a team but the hopes, pride, and unity of the Bosongo nation from Kisii to every corner of our beloved country,” it said.

Shabana additionally pledged to pay back the gesture with good performances and by honourably representing its fans.
